Shisha Brights By Jill McCloy This came about because I wanted to do something fun with Shisha mirror embroidery. It would also look wonderful in jewel or earth tones. The appliqué is done by machine, but if you love hand work and have the time, it would be charming appliquéd with hand buttonhole stitches. The birds top knot and feet are free motion, but could easily be done with standard straight stitching with a bit of pivoting. The Shisha work is all done by hand, with the mirrors first glued in place for stability.
